About the team
We know that the difference for businesses between pursuing the right and the wrong transaction is huge, so whether the focus is on growth through acquisitions or increasing shareholder value through strategic divestments, we support clients to find opportunities, consider risks, and deliver their strategic objectives through M&A.
Our M&A Consulting Services Team focuses on the deal cycle - including pre-deal strategy, assessment of deal targets with commercial and operational due diligence, deal execution and implementation. This role will focus on strategy and diligence, providing support for our clients through complex deal processes, with a focus on increasing growth and value.
What will your typical day look like?
You will drive the thinking of Corporate and Private Equity clients to uncover the true strategic and operational impact of acquisitions or divestments. You will bring an analytical point of view, structured problem solving, great consulting skills and disciplined project management capabilities. You will lead teams and shape your own insights to deliver strategic advice to our clients.
As a mature member of the team, you will typically be involved with:
Development of inorganic strategies and growth options for clients
Pre-deal strategy design and articulation, structured problem solving and strategic decision making
Due diligence for proposed transactions, including financial analysis, and market and target assessment
Commercial assessment of deal synergies and standalone costs
Practice and business development activities e.g. through the development of thought leadership material and/or sales materials
Coaching junior staff to operationalise the deal process for clients through knowledge of the M&A lifecycle and excellent project management skills
Enough about us, let's talk about you.
You are someone with:
Ideally a Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification (e.g. CA / CFA / MBA)
3-4+ years' advisory/consulting experience, ideally from a Big 4, strategy or boutique consulting firm or the internal strategy function of a large corporate (this is provided as a guidance only, please don't let it limit you if you feel you have something to add to our team)
Aptitude for problem solving and structured thinking
Comfort with an analytical strategy toolkit
Experience with the broader deal-oriented process and environment
Excellent commercial or financial skills
Articulate communication and confident presentation skills
Readiness to address complex problems by leading a team to work in an organised manner
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to deal with ambiguity and change
