Position Description:
The Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies and campaigns to support the financial sustainability of Chances House. This role involves overseeing fundraising activities, managing donor relations, coordinating events, and working with the volunteer team to engage the community in our mission. The Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the success of the organisation's fundraising goals to allow us to continue providing vital services to those in need.
This role is hybrid which means there will be a component of working from home, along with weekly team and management meetings (on-site at Chances House) and some external events, meetings and presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy Development:
- Work with the CEO and leadership team to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies.
- Meet annual fundraising targets and ensure strategies align with the organisation's financial needs and mission.
- Identify and explore new fundraising opportunities, including grants, corporate partnerships, major donor programs, and online giving.
- Campaign and Event Management:
- Plan, organise, and execute fundraising events and campaigns, both online and in-person (e.g., charity auctions, community events, giving days, etc.).
- Coordinate logistics, promotion, and execution of events, including volunteer management.
- Develop fundraising materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, social media content) to support campaigns.
- Donor Relations and Stewardship:
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Acknowledge and thank donors promptly, ensuring they are kept informed on how their contributions are making a difference.
- Manage donor databases and maintain accurate records of donor information, communication, and giving history.
- Volunteer Management:
- Lead and support fundraising volunteers, providing them with clear direction, resources, and motivation to engage in fundraising activities.
- Assist in recruitment and training of new volunteers for fundraising events and initiatives.
- Grant Writing and Applications:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government bodies, foundations, and private institutions.
- Write and submit compelling grant proposals, including follow-up reports, to secure funding for key initiatives.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Track and report on fundraising progress, including donor contributions, event success, and campaign performance.
- Analyse fundraising data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Fundraising & Marketing team to develop and implement promotional strategies for fundraising campaigns, and to organise events.
- Collaborate with other staff members and stakeholders to ensure alignment between fundraising efforts and the overall organisational strategy.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in fundraising/sales, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Experience in organising fundraising events and campaigns, including donor stewardship and volunteer management.
- Familiarity with fundraising software and donor management tools is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in grant writing and reporting.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders. Given previous experience, do you want to add something about willingness to approach potential sponsors/cold calling?

- Qualifications:
- A degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience in fundraising or similar roles within a charitable organisation is highly desirable.

Pay: $37.20 per hour
