The Role
Our Smithfield site in Western Sydney, manufactures a range of more than 60 fruit juice, fruit drink and water ice products and forms part of the juice portfolio - operating five days a week, 24 hours a day. The site currently manufactures approximately 110 million litres of finished goods every year including The Juice Brothers, Daily Juice, Mildura and Zooper Dooper.
Bega Group is looking for a Safety Advisor to join our flagship site in Smithfield. In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance your safety skills and positively impact the development of safety practices and behaviours, both strategically and operationally. You will provide ongoing advice, guidance, coaching, mentoring, and support to the site leadership, management team, team members, and other personnel to achieve safety objectives and ensure compliance with legislation and Bega's safety requirements. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work across two sites: Smithfield as your base and support Wetherill Park.
Responsibilities
- Engage and coach team members and managers to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Support the site in identifying and mitigating safety risks and risks to the well-being of all employees at the worksite
- Analyse safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
- You will work closely with site members to ensure risk assessments are performed and critical risk registers are maintained with critical controls implemented
- Assist with developing various site reports for safety meetings and support the drive of continuous safety improvement.
About you
- Diploma or Cert IV in Safety is desirable, or extensive relevant experience.
- Practical knowledge of Australian occupational health and safety management systems, standards, and legislation
- Ability to build effective relationships and instil trust with a variety of stakeholders
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Enthusiastic in coaching and mentoring Site teams in safety matters
