Description:
We are seeking dedicated Childcare Cooks to join our Pakenham team at Inspire Early Learning Journey. In this role, you will be responsible for planning nutritionally balanced meals for children aged 6 months to 6 years, following the Feed Australia program to support our chef in menu planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks.
- Review menu plans seasonally and submit them to the Centre Manager for approval, ensuring adherence to campus budgets.
- Create a 4-week rotating menu, display it within the campus, and distribute it to families via email.
- Plan and conduct workshops for families on healthy meal preparation.
- Organize cooking demonstrations or activities with groups of children at the campus.
- Ensure compliance with regulations regarding special dietary needs for children.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in the kitchen.
Qualification and Essential Experience:
- Relevant food handling certificates or commercial cookery certificates
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Proven ability in all areas of cookery including purchasing, menu planning, meeting nutritional guidelines, working with allergies and budgets
- Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of food handling guidelines
- Organised, neat, clean, and pay attention to details.
