The RoleAs part of the Outcomes team in Gippsland, you will lead the team delivering services in one of the residential homes in Bairnsdale. You will work alongside people we support, their families/guardians and staff to ensure that the people supported receive the highest level of care.You will work with an incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and committed Operations Manager who is there to support you. In addition, you will be supported and coached by the Practice Quality and Safeguards team, who are experts in Zero Tolerance, human rights-based Positive Behaviour Support, and a person-centred approach.
Reporting to the Operations Manager - you will:Supervise the operations of the Supported Independent Living service with regular reporting to the Operations ManagerManage all aspects of team performance including rosters, performance management, records management, quality, and complianceLead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community, based on the goals of individual support plansSupport initiatives that allow for individual choice, control and independence within their shared home environmentAdvocate within the broader community for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights for supported peopleConvey information to people we support and their families to help meet daily needs and plan support for future requirementsAdminister medication treatments, therapies or seek assistance according to protocols
The Persons:You’ll be driven and show genuine passion for building capability within your team. In addition, you:Are a natural influencer; modelling a positive attitude, professional conduct and unwavering commitment to quality outcomes and service delivery for staff, individuals with disability and the communityMust hold or be working towards an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or equivalent qualificationPossess experience and knowledge in the field of disability and ability to apply policies and processesCan offer specialised and contemporary understanding of disability and an ability to apply this theoretical knowledge to client supportHave an understanding and familiarity with NDIS funding and planning processesAre passionate about supporting people with mental health and intellectual disabilityPossess Knowledge of and skill with coaching, supervision, and planning practicesHave competencies using Microsoft Office software programsA current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them).Possess a current First Aid Certificate with CPRAble to offer evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including boosterPossess a current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence
