Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead the identification and evaluation of research opportunities that directly support the Gather + Grow initiative, a flagship program designed to improve food security in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The role involves managing and driving research, program implementation, strategic advice and evaluation efforts in collaboration with First Nations communities, research institutions, and government stakeholders.As the lead, you will draw on your research development experience, organisational/business skills, and partnerships to oversee the development of key policies, strategies, and reports aimed at enhancing food security and health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Your opportunity
As the Public Health Researcher you will be involved in:
- Supporting the development and implementation of the Queensland Government Gather + Grow Remote Food Security Strategy and Action Plan, focusing on evidence-based food system solutions for improving remote food security for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Managing interdisciplinary research projects, including timely and on-budget completion of research milestones and provide expert guidance in research project delivery, including overseeing food environment and evaluation studies.
- Supporting representation of research findings at conferences and working groups to position the agency as a leader in remote food security research.
