The Role
Two unique opportunities have opened for experienced ICT professionals to join our team as an APS 6 ICT Testing Assurance and Governance Manager and an APS 6 Test Script Developer and Maintainer at the Enterprise Resource Planning Support Organisation (ESO).
The APS 6 ICT Testing Assurance and Governance Manager will develop, maintain, and manage automated test scripts to ensure system functionality, reliability, and compliance with Defence standards.
With your technical expertise and knowledge, you will be:
- Developing test artefacts and supporting data using provided specifications and perform moderately complex activities and tasks to test behaviour, functionality and integrity of systems or software under routine direction from supervisor.
- Assisting with the assessment and analysis of release components.
- Providing input to Test Summary Report and recommendations
- Supporting the undertaking of builds and tests in coordination with Delivery and Sustainment testers.
- Ensuring release processes and procedures are maintained for Sustainment.
- Supporting testing and acceptance activities and helps coordinate the execution of these activities.
- Supporting the provision of authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution.
- Assisting with managing test processes, including test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability.
For the APS 6 Automated Test Developer position, the ESO is looking for technically well-versed individuals who are seeking apply their skills with the following responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT).
- Configure and manage ALM and UFT workflows, Business Process Documents, Requirements Traceability Matricies.
- Configure and manage test scenarios, test cases, and test plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure test coverage aligns with project requirements.
- Identify, document, and track defects through ALM, and update all relevant documents periodically.
- Optimize testing strategies to enhance system performance and reduce risk.
- Generate and analyse ALM reports to provide testing insights and progress updates.
- Ensure all testing activities adhere to Defence policies and security requirements.
About our Team
The ERP Support Organisation is part of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), a key enabler of the One Defence reform agenda. ERP will standardise and integrate critical functions needed to run the Department into a single SAP platform resulting in a major capability uplift for Defence.
The EAMS Directorate is responsible for the operation, maintenance and through life support of Engineering Asset Management applications which support the Defence capability. This service includes maintenance of the systems configuration baseline, the provision of customer support, resolution of defects and the maintenance and refinement of the systems operation.
The EFIT Directorate is responsible for Sustainment of the Force Element capability and ERP Interface management. EFIT is responsible for support of analytic models, analytics and reporting delivered by the ERP SAP Analytics Cloud. EFIT also provide cross-functional support and dependencies across all functional areas within the ESO.
Our Ideal Candidate
An ideal candidate for the APS 6 ICT Testing Assurance and Governance Manager would have a strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools. Candidates with experience in multiple business and technical processes in the areas of testing, change management, release, deployment and configuration management would be highly regarded.
For the APS 6 Automated Test Developer and Maintainer position, an ideal candidate would have strong demonstrated experience in relevant technical areas. Their experience should reflect an ability to interpret business requirements and functional specifications or technical designs to inform both manual and automated test strategy, plans, and scripts.
The successful candidates must have demonstrable and well-developed communication and relationship management skills, ably communicate with influence towards stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
