As a Support Worker at Bowral Youth Refuge , you will play a pivotal role in assisting young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. You'll be directly involved in helping these young people regain stability, build resilience, and pave the way to independence. You'll work closely with a dedicated team of Case Workers, supporting the development and implementation of individual care plans to help
Your Responsibility-
Guide young people through the intake and assessment process, ensuring a smooth transition into the refuge

Create a safe and welcoming environment where young people can feel valued and supported

Assist in the delivery of casework support , providing practical help and advocacy to clients

Engage with external agencies to ensure clients receive all the support they need
-
Contribute to a variety of tasks, including meal service, activity supervision, transport, and accommodation management

Maintain accurate case records and daily communication logs
Profile description:
You Will Need- Must have availability to work the below rotating roster:
- WK1: Monday 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM, Friday 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Sleepover Shift), Saturday 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM. WK2 Monday 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM, Friday 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM, Saturday 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM, Sunday 8:45 AM - 5:15 PM
- Relevant Certificate, equivalent experience, or current enrolment in tertiary studies in a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm in crisis or emergency situations.
- A current First Aid Certificate.
- A compassionate, non-judgmental attitude towards clients and staff, with a strong commitment to ethical conduct.
- Drivers Licence.
