The Role : We are looking for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our civil construction team based out of Orange NSW. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. You'll play a crucial part in maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency across our fleet. We’re looking for someone who can not only uphold high standards but also contribute to improving our practices, ensuring our fleet is always in top condition.
Responsibilities :

Routine Maintenance : Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.

Diagnostics : Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Repairs : Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

Testing : Test the functionality of parts and systems to ensure they operate properly.

Documentation : Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repair work performed.

Client Interaction : Communicate with site personnel to understand vehicle problems and plan necessary repairs.

Safety Compliance : Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Inventory Management : Manage the stock of spare parts and tools to ensure availability when needed.
Qualifications :

Qualified Plant Mechanic or equivalent

Previous experience maintaining, repairing and servicing earthmoving equipment

Holds a current driver’s licence (MR/ HR advantageous)

Demonstrated commitment to safety

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Valid driver's license and relevant certifications.
Work Environment :

Primarily operates on construction sites, with a focus on field servicing

May involve working in various weather conditions and handling heavy equipment.
