We currently have a great opportunity for a full-time Weighbridge and Sample Stand Operator, to work alongside the Site Manager and a team of permanent Grain Handlers that together deliver a safe and effective service in receival, storage and outload of grain commodities via road, rail and container packing. In addition to assisting the Site manager in ensuring scheduled deliveries and operations of commodities are met on site, your key responsibilities include:
• Act as first point of contact for growers and direct all trucks incoming and outgoing commodities at site• Monitoring and ensuring that all commodity standards are met against GTA specifications and report any irregularities• Manage required record keeping regarding quality standards and ensuring that all permitted obligations and compliance requirements are met • Maintaining all sampling equipment and ensuring calibration is performed as required• Conduct internal audits and implement exporting practices • Supervise a team of weighbridge and sample stand operators during our busy harvest intake periods.• Work with the quality manager to ensure all quality targets are metYou:A quality-focused, hands-on individual with a background in commodities and an ability to implement procedures within a diverse operations team. Key skills and attributes:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Strong attention to detail plus analytical and problem-solving skills• Self-motivated with excellent planning, organisational and time management skills• Ability to engage and encourage a quality culture throughout the entire operation• Willingness to work within an uncompromising safety culture• Very good IT literacy• Current driver’s licence
The following skills would be highly favourable to the position:• DAFF “Authorised Officer” qualification.• Prior experience in weighbridge and grain classification• Prior experience in bulk agricultural commodity management, preferably grain
