About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner – Data Analyst to join our Hunter Class Frigate Project based at Osborne SA, reporting to the Production Planning Lead.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. While full-time work is preferred, we are also open to considering candidates for a 0.8 FTE position.

You will be responsible for providing process framework, functioning toolsets and associated governance, data analysis and reporting to ensure effective assurance of planning process effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process & Tool Development: Support the development of planning processes, procedures, work instructions, and toolsets to ensure accurate configuration and workflow alignment.
  • Data & Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain Tableau reports and dashboards to provide actionable planning insights and ensure compliance monitoring.
  • Governance & Compliance: Generate reports to ensure process compliance and support the management of Level 2–4 scheduling responsibilities.
  • Training & Continuous Improvement: Train users on planning toolsets and assist in identifying and implementing process and toolset improvements.
  • Collaboration & Validation: Work with production and support functions to validate build plans, design information, material supply, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Task & Action Management: Own and close assigned actions within JIRA and support employee development reviews, as needed.
  • Other Duties: Perform relevant tasks as required to support planning and operational goals.

About YOU

  • Relevant Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Business, IT, or Engineering.
  • Communication & Software Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with competency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools is desirable.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Experience in process and data analytics, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Configuration Control processes.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
