Who we are

Workforce Supply, Mobility and Reform is responsible for promoting the Department of Education as the employer of choice to local, interstate and international teachers.

We represent the Department at expos, in universities, and deliver online events and webinars. We also work with the Communications team to create and maintain the Department of Education career website, and promotional material related to the work we do.

A number of key Workforce functions are currently managed within our team including:

  • The international and interstate recruitment of high quality teachers;
  • Promotion of the Department as an Employer of Choice with a diversity of careers in Education;
  • The Leap program to retrain teachers into specialised areas of need; and
  • The Teach in WA customer service centre, providing information to prospective and current Department teachers in many areas of inquiry, including employment eligibility requirements, recognition of prior service, and teacher qualification assessments.

The Role and what we’re looking for

The Project Support Officer plays an important role in supporting a range of programs and projects related to attracting and retaining high quality staff in the WA public education system.

The successful applicant will support the delivery of attraction and retention events, including induction of new staff, employer promotional events, and online webinars. They will build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide advice on matters relating to staff recruitment and employment with the Department of Education.

Strong organisational and database management skills assist the Project Support Officer to manage a high volume of competing priorities, and to maintain databases for the purposes of reporting and presenting information.
