The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 45 years. When we first opened our doors in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia.
We deliver comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to more than 6500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Broome region.

About the role
BRAMS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mental Health Manager to drive the future of our mental health services. This is a unique opportunity to lead and expand BRAMS’ Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Program and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) counselling services, ensuring high-quality, culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee program delivery, clinical governance, workforce development, and stakeholder engagement, shaping innovative and holistic mental health support. - Competitive Salary of $115,000 - $130,000 per annum depending on experience

About you
To be successful in this role, you must address the following selection criteria in your cover letter:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology.
- Extensive experience as a health professional in mental health, with knowledge of varied assessment, treatment, and evaluation methods.
- Practical experience delivering mental health services in Aboriginal communities, with a deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contemporary issues. Ability to engage effectively in remote settings with diverse populations.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, collaborate, and negotiate effectively.
