Description:
- All mustering is done on 2-wheel motorbikes
- Work in the iconic Pilbara region across 105,000 Hectares
- Family-owned and run Cattle Station
The Role
Our clients take great pride in having retained their successful cattle station in the family since 1910, with the current owner-managers being at the helm since 1974. Encompassing 105,000 hectares of grasslands, spinifex country, mulga woodlands, and hilly areas, with the Hamersley Ranges nearby, they have a deep understanding and respect for the landscape surrounding them.
Maintaining a herd of approximately 3,000 Charolais cross cattle, all mustering is conducted in a low-stress manner on two-wheel motorbikes, assisted by helicopters. With the mustering season due to commence in May, they are looking for a capable station hand to assist in all aspects of cattle husbandry, such as yard work and mustering as well as fencing, and potentially installing solar pumps, tanks, and troughs. Additionally, you will be responsible for general tasks such as checking waters, conducting repairs and maintenance, and fixing tyres.
In addition to the standard mustering season, you will ideally arrive early to assist with undertaking some
upgrades to the existing yards, including the installation of auto gates that will make processing much more
efficient as well as fencing and maintenance of existing fences.
The Offer
Above-award wages, single accommodation surrounded by shady trees and an established lawn, hearty home-cooked meals, and reliable Telstra coverage are on offer for the successful candidate. With the season expected to commence in May and finish around the end of September, you will need to be able to commit to this time frame.
The Station is located 150 km southwest of Tom Price, and Karratha is 200km to the north on the coast. To the south of the station is the beautiful Karijini National Park, home to breathtaking gorges, crystal-clear rock pools, waterfalls, and wildflowers. Millstream National Park is to the north of the station and is home to a landscape of rolling hills, escarpments, tree-lined rivers, and water pools. This area is rich in history and weekends off will give you plenty of time to put your swag in the back and have an adventure.

You must be willing to live remotely and have a genuine interest in working on a cattle station along with the following attributes:
- Skilled at riding 2-wheel motorbikes
- Own Vehicle and driver's licence is essential to explore the region on days off
- Must be a team player with strong communication skills
