West Wyalong is situated 500km West of Sydney on the junction of the Newell and Mid-Western Highways. It has a population of approx 4,000 residents and is 150 km from the major cities of both Wagga Wagga and Griffith. The town is a great traveller's stopover, offering lovely heritage walks, parks and gardens to keep people entertained as they pass through the area.
The West Wyalong Services & Citizens Club offers the main Services Club as well as the West Wyalong Services & Citizens Sports Club (Golf Club) as well as their accommodation business, the Club Inn Motel. Located in the centre of town, the main Club features lounge bars, sports bars with TAB and Pool Table, 51 gaming machines, an auditorium for up to 400, function rooms, and a dining room for 160 with delivering Asian Cuisine through the contracted Jade Teahouse. The Sports Club boasts an 18 hole golf course plus 2 bowling greens and 8 gaming machines. The group has around 2,000 members. The Club Inn Motel, which has 42 ground floor units, is adjacent to the Clubhouse and is serviced by the Club kitchen.
The Board of Directors (7 members) of West Wyalong Services & Citizens Club are looking forward to welcoming a CEO who is an experienced hospitality manager who is happy to be hands on whilst driving the business to continued future success.
Responsibilities of the role include;
- Day to day management of all areas of the Club's operations
- Identifying and leading the Club into future opportunities.
- Excellence in customer service delivery
- Lead, manage and overseeing the financial reporting
- Board reporting and board guidance
- Managing the three main income streams simultaneously (Services Club, Sports Club and Motor Inn)
- Managing and nurturing your teams to continued success
- Communicating professionally with suppliers, stakeholders and patrons
To be successful you will meet the following criteria
- Demonstrate strong experience in business management (preferably within a hospitality environment)
- Have a sound knowledge and experience in gaming, managing contract catering, bar and general club operations
- Possess a high level of business ethics and integrity
- Demonstrate the ability to build on, lead and motivate effective teams to succeed and further develop the business
- Have an understanding and good working knowledge of legislation relevant to the clubs
- Demonstrate financial management, analysis, budgeting and reporting - a strong background managing club or business finances would be an advantage
- Be a visible manager who is present and shows genuine care of people and the business
- Develop the business through innovative initiatives and marketing those strategies through all forms of media.
- Hold current RSA and RCG / ARCG certificates (or ability to achieve these)
- Encourage and grow your teams
- Be comfortable working at a higher level as well as being hands on in the business
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors
