Wesley Vocational Institute (RTO 90091) delivers accredited and non-accredited training across a number of qualifications and locations around Australia. We supply all training and assessment materials as well as a collegiate environment to ensure our trainers are well informed and supported in every way.
About the role
Wesley Vocational Institute is seeking casual and contract trainers to deliver and assess accredited training in Community Services, Ageing and or Disability in the Mid North Coast region.
Ideally you will possess a sound understanding of the VET industry and have extensive experience in training delivery and assessment through gathering of quality evidence. You would have the desire to ensure every student fulfills their training goals. You will also be familiar with the challenges of delivering nationally accredited training in various environments including the workplace, classroom, e-learning, and to a range of client groups.
Your knowledge of the recognition process will allow you to consider a person’s existing set of skills and knowledge to design a learning program that is tailored to each student’s needs. You will have current experience in your chosen field of training.
Essential criteria
- TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or TAE40110 with upgraded units).
- Over 80 hours of recent (within the last two years) industry currency in Community Services, Aged Care, or Disability.
- Relevant qualifications in the industry (or ability to skills-map to relevant Units of Competency).
- Experience delivering accredited training and assessment in VET.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in VET and your speciality industry for the next 12 months.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.
- For contractor roles: ABN and insurances required.
Desirable Criteria
Experience or exposure to flexible training delivery methods, including:
- Workplace-based training and competency assessment in real-world settings
- Online and e-learning delivery models
- Clustered training across related units
Understanding of holistic assessment practices, including:
- Gathering quality evidence from students in various environments (e.g. workplaces, online, simulated tasks)
- Mapping student evidence to unit requirements using a range of assessment methods
Willingness to travel across the Mid North Coast region, as required.
