Vision Hospital Group (VHG) comprises 11 day surgeries across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia. At our day surgeries, you will find friendly, highly experienced administrative and specialist theatre teams, led by an on-site Director of Nursing.
The opportunity:
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Certificate IV Sterilisation Qualified Instrument Technician to join the team at our North Queensland Day Surgery.
About you:
You are a passionate team player who can work autonomously, have strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills with a focus on compliance and a commitment to quality, best practice and workplace safety.
You have exceptional technical skills in the Sterilisation Department and ensure compliance with AS/NZ 4187 and OHS.
You bring demonstrated knowledge of the Department of Health Guidelines, Standards and Regulations, OHS, Infection Control and their impact on delivery of care.
As a CSSD Technician you will have 2 years' experience in the following:
- Clean and pack of all instruments and equipment required for use by the Day Surgery
- Maintain instrumentation and equipment according to the manufacturers recommendations/guidelines
- Maintain, validate and calibrate equipment through structured maintenance agreements
- Sterilisation of instrumentation and equipment
- Deliver effective communication with the surgical team to ensure sterilised instruments are available on time for each theatre case
- Validation of sterilisers and maintaining accurate and up to date records of all sterilisers according to AS/NZ 4187 and State Health Department requirements
