The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Residential and Commercial Building Estimator / Project Manager to join our team at MyBuild Group in Cairns, QLD. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimations and managing projects from the planning stage through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects based on plans, specifications, and industry knowledge
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information
- Develop comprehensive project budgets and schedules
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments to budgets and timelines as needed
- Oversee the coordination of contractors, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Provide regular updates to clients on project status and any issues that arise
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Building Estimator or Project Manager in the residential construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and costs
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills
- Proficient in the use of estimating software and project management tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
