The Sector
Dalby Full-day Full-time

Description:

Are you a passionate Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) professional looking for a fresh career challenge? Do you have a talent for writing and a deep understanding of the Australian ECEC landscape? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Sector aims to enhance unity, knowledge and understanding in Australia's ECEC sector by publishing news, views and reviews, always with the needs of our readership at front of mind.

Our content is designed to be insightful, useful and importantly relevant to ECEC professionals, their teams, and the organisations they work for.

Using the experiences, networks and knowledge of our team, we have a real advantage in the production of content in a way that the mainstream media finds it challenging to match.

To continue our expansion we are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic writer to contribute to our leading web-based publication. This role is ideal for an experienced Educational Leader, Centre Manager, Early Childhood Teacher, or Consultant who wants to leverage their professional expertise in a new and dynamic way.

About the Role

As a key contributor to our publication, you will:

  • Create engaging, well-researched content that informs and supports ECEC professionals.
  • Stay up to date with sector trends, policies, and best practices in Australian early childhood education.
  • Work autonomously within a small, collaborative team, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives.
  • Communicate effectively with sector leaders, educators, and stakeholders to produce insightful articles.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and informative content.
  • A deep understanding of the Australian ECEC sector, including regulations, frameworks, and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and research skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible articles.
  • The ability to work independently while being a proactive and supportive team player.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

Why This Role?

This is a unique opportunity to make a lateral career move—shifting from direct service delivery into a role that influences and informs the sector at a broader level. Whether you're looking to further develop your writing skills, gain experience in media and communications, or contribute to meaningful sector discussions, this role offers exciting professional growth.

All applications will be treated with the strictest confidence.

Interested? Apply today and take the next step in your ECEC career!
