Description:

Walker Newman and Associates Pty Ltd (www.wna.com.au) provide communications engineering and maintenance services to a number of clients in the oil & gas and mining sectors. We request expressions of interest from high calibre project managers who might wish to join our team.

To be considered you must be willing to relocate to Perth (if not already a Perth resident).

You must be an Australian citizen/permanent resident, or have full working rights to work in Australia.

Roles are offered on a minimum of 12 month contract arrangement with the genuine intent to extend indefinitely.

Role:

Project management of brownfields engineering projects: Stakeholder management, risk management, budget management, schedule management, MoC management, reporting, budget forecasting, planning.

Roles are Perth based with some opportunity to travel to site (onshore and offshore) as required.

Experience:

You are required to have demonstrated expertise in project management in a telecommunications/IT environment.

Oil & Gas or mining experience is highly regarded.

Technical knowledge of some of the following technical systems is beneficial.

  • IT infrastructure (operating systems, virtualised environments)

  • IP networking (LAN, WAN, wireless)

  • LoRaWAN/IoT

  • Radio systems (analog, DMR, TETRA) (VHF, UHF)

  • Microwave radio

  • LTE

  • Marine systems (radar, AIS/AtoN, VTS, GMDSS)

  • Stabilised antenna systems

  • VSAT

  • Cabling (copper, fibre, coax)

  • PAGA

  • CCTV

  • Access Control, personnel location, mustering

  • Entertainment, AV, collaboration systems

  • Telecommunications power systems

  • SCADA/telemetry/PLCs

  • Network management systems (Solarwinds)

  • FOSSL

  • Berthing Aid Systems

Skills:

  • Absolute commitment to safe working

  • Team player

  • Self starter/self managing/thinking/problem solving/organised/attention to detail

  • Integrity

  • Flexible, adaptable, fast learner

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience

  • Willing to go the extra mile as and when necessary

  • Oil and gas experience is highly desirable, but not mandatory.

  • Mining experience is desirable (but again not mandatory)

  • SAP experience is beneficial

Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications in Project Management and/or;

  • Demonstrated experience.
