The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 45 years. When we first opened our doors in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia.
We deliver comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to more than 6500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Broome region.

About the Role
Are you passionate about women’s health and primary health care? BRAMS is seeking a Part-Time Women’s Health Nurse to provide essential health services, ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have access to family planning, cervical & breast screening, and reproductive health support.
This role will involve.
- Providing vital women’s health services – including family planning, reproductive health management, and routine screenings.
- Increasing STI & BBV testing – addressing Broome’s Syphilis outbreak and high STI rates through proactive testing and education.
- Enhancing healthcare access – supporting a comprehensive primary health care approach and improving processes to better serve the community.
- Delivering high-quality clinical care – in line with the BRAMS Model of Care and Clinical Governance Framework.
- Collaborating with a diverse team – using your strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and the community.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Women’s Health Nurse with current unconditional AHPRA registration.
- Previous experience within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Service.
- Experience in Reproductive & Sexual Health or Primary Health Care Nursing, with the ability to work independently within your professional scope.
- Experience in planning, delivering, managing, and evaluating reproductive & sexual health services within an Indigenous primary health care setting.
- Previous experience using MMEx and confidence in working with clinical systems and processes.
- Ability to deliver training and education sessions to diverse audiences, including young people, health professionals, and community members.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a high level of integrity in maintaining organisational and client confidentiality.
