About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Executive Officer (EO) to manage the day-to-day operations of the Trust. As the sole employee, the EO plays a pivotal leadership role supporting the Board to implement strategy and manage all aspects of governance, grant administration, stakeholder engagement, marketing and fundraising. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in remote Australia. This exciting full-time position will preferably be based in Alice Springs and offers an attractive package including five weeks’ annual leave and workplace flexibility, with an office in the CBD.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Implementation and Oversight
· Implement the Trust’s strategic priorities in partnership with the Board
· Provide operational oversight and ensure compliance with Trust policies and governance standards
Grant and Scholarship Management
· Administer end-to-end grant and scholarship processes: application, assessment, approval, acquittal and reporting
Board Support and Governance Duties
· Plan and coordinate Board meetings
· Prepare and circulate agendas, papers and minutes using board portal software
· Maintain accurate governance records
Marketing and Fundraising
· Deliver targeted marketing and social media campaigns to increase visibility and engagement
· Develop partnerships and philanthropic relationships, including community outreach and bequest programs
Financial Management
· Prepare annual budgets, monitor expenditure, and generate financial reports in conjunction with the Treasurer
· Ensure compliance with ATO, ACNC and all financial reporting obligations
Stakeholder Engagement
· Foster strong relationships with grant recipients, donors, government and community
· Represent the Trust at external forums and events
· Proactively seek and manage partnership that align with the Trust’s objectives, fostering collaboration and increased support for initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
· Relevant qualifications and/or experience in business administration, marketing, fundraising, and PR
· Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
· Demonstrated experience in governance, grant management and financial administration, particularly in the not-for-profit sector.
· Proficient in systems, i.e. Xero, CRMs, and board portal software.
· Experience in cultivating donor relationships and developing long-term fundraising partnerships
· Have or ability to get a National Police Check & Working with Children clearance.
