About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Technical Officer (TGO2) to support research, operational, and project programs through expert technical knowledge and judgment. In this role, you will work both independently and as a leader of minor technical projects , ensuring the effective application of laboratory procedures and technical processes . Your ability to apply critical thinking and technical expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality outcomes within a dynamic environment.
As a Technical Officer , you will also take on supervisory responsibilities , guiding team members while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory workflows . You will provide reports and recommendations on the suitability of equipment, procedures, and processes , contributing to ongoing innovation and quality improvements. About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and organised Technical Officer (TGO2) who is committed to delivering high-quality laboratory services. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Strong Technical & Problem-Solving Skills – Demonstrated experience in a Blood Bank laboratory , with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently while meeting client requirements.

Excellent Communication & Teamwork – Strong oral and written communication skills , with the ability to prepare reports, train laboratory personnel, and work effectively in a team environment while providing excellent customer service.

Organisational & Supervisory Abilities – Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads, and meet deadlines under limited supervision. Experience in training and supervising staff to maintain high standards in laboratory operations.

Knowledge of Laboratory Standards & Compliance – A high level of expertise in diagnostic laboratory practice, quality principles, and Work Health & Safety (WHS) procedures , ensuring compliance with laboratory regulations and protocols.
