About the role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Officer (TGO2) to play a key role in supporting research, operational, and project programs within a laboratory environment. In this role, you will apply technical expertise and judgement to conduct a range of laboratory activities, including leading minor technical projects and ensuring the effective application of standardised procedures. You will work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to high-quality laboratory operations while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

As a Technical Officer , you will also take on supervisory responsibilities within the team as needed, providing guidance and ensuring smooth laboratory workflows. Additionally, you will prepare reports and recommendations on the suitability of equipment, procedures, and processes, helping to drive innovation and efficiency. About You

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Technical Officer (TGO2) with strong laboratory expertise and leadership capabilities. To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Strong Technical & Laboratory Skills – Demonstrated experience in a Blood Bank laboratory , with the ability to troubleshoot issues, solve problems, and manage client requirements effectively.

• Excellent Communication & Teamwork – Strong oral and written communication skills , with the ability to prepare reports, follow instructions, and contribute to a positive team environment while delivering excellent customer service.

• Leadership & Organisational Abilities – Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads efficiently, and meet deadlines in accordance with laboratory standards. Experience in supervising and training other laboratory personnel .

• Knowledge of Laboratory Standards & Compliance – Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic laboratory practices, quality principles, Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures, and industry regulations .
