St Mary’s Cathedral is well known as a place of worship for the Archdiocese of Hobart.
Our Parish is now looking for a secretary to join our team. This role is Permanent Part time.
The Parish Secretary is to provide a high level of administrative support to the Parish and manage the day-to-day Parish administrative tasks.
Tasks included are:
- First point of contact for queries by staff, volunteers and visitors to the Parish
- Liaise with external sources and suppliers
- Keep up-to-date with administrative and other Parish requirements
- Secure building and switch off equipment/utilities at close of business
- Provide detailed information regarding parish services or requirements e.g. baptism, wedding, funeral, sacramental, genealogical, Planned Giving etc
- Create content and publish the Parish bulletin
The right person would need to have demonstrated experience in a similar administrative role, strong sound computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher a Commitment to the identity and mission of the Archdiocese of Hobart; and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.
You will need to have the ability to undertake the relevant employee screening process which includes a National Police Criminal History Check satisfactory to the Archdiocese of Hobart and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania).
