West Arnhem Regional Council (WARC) is seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team as the Waste and Resource Coordinator . As the Waste and Resource Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in implementing WARC’s innovative Waste Management Strategy and delivering the Burial and Cremation Act 2022. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading sustainable waste management practices aligned with the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Strategy 2024–2034.

Overseeing landfill operations and cemetery grounds management.

Driving compliance with environmental regulations and statutory requirements.

Developing partnerships with other councils to address region-specific challenges collaboratively.

What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking candidates with:

Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Management (or equivalent experience).

Extensive knowledge of environmental legislation and risk management practices.

Strong appreciation of Indigenous culture and the ability to work effectively in remote communities.

A current C-class driver’s license and Working with Children Check (Ochre Card).
Experience in remote locality environments or local government operations will be highly regarded.
