What You'll Be Doing
The Integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect Services (IVANS) Clinical Nurse Consultant provides a complex and expansive person-centered clinical consultancy service within a mixed clinical environment across multiple service groups for individuals, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty to provide a people focused quality clinical consultancy service. This is specific to the care of victims of violence, abuse and neglect, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including the Forensic Medical Staff Specialist and Nurse Practitioner.
Selection Criteria
Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with at least 7 years full time equivalent postgraduate experience and Tertiary nursing qualifications in the speciality with at least 5 year's fulltime equivalent experience in the speciality field.Current Graduate Certificate in Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault, Forensic Photography and Supervised Medico Legal, and Medical and Forensic Response to Domestic and Family Violence, or willingness to obtain within six months of commencement.Demonstrated skills and ability to lead and conduct significant research and apply evidence-based practice to the workplace with the ability to think critically, problem solve and link outcomes to the principles of continuous quality improvement in the clinical speciality field.Demonstrated an advanced level of interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and computer skills and an ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with external stakeholders.Proven high level clinical leadership capabilities with the ability to provide expert consultancy advice, education and support to individuals, their families, nursing staff and other health professionals. This includes the provision of expert clinical advice and support to health care professionals and other stakeholders regarding the care of victims of violence, abuse and neglect i.e. sexual assault and domestic violence, in consultation with the Forensic Medical Staff Specialist.Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, present and evaluate advanced education programs, clinical procedures and policies to large audiences.Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015
All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
