About the role:
We are currently seeking experienced (female) personal care assistants and/or student nurses to work on one of our programs in Warragul, specifically focusing on providing care for a client with high complex care needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who require specialised care and support around the clock.
Shifts available:
- Thursday: 6.30am - 4.00pm (complex bowel routine from 6.30am - 11.00am)
- Friday: 6.30am - 4.00pm (personal care ie showering, toileting)
- Saturday: 7.00am - 12.00noon (complex bowel routine)
Responsibilities:
- Travelling to client's home to assist with all aspects of care to ensure their daily lifestyle and needs are met.
- Experience in complex bowel care
- Experience with showering, oral care and continence management
- Help with mobility to transfer client to different locations
- Administering medications
- Assisting with personal care as required
- Provide person-centred care with a focus on dignity, safety and well being
- Maintaining clear communication channels and promptly reporting any changes in our clients' health
- Community support ie shopping, medical appointments and activities of interest
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
- Adapting care plans to address the unique requirements of each client.
About you:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability) or Nursing qualifications.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance or willingness to undertake one.
- Valid Australian Driver License
- Reliable and comprehensive insured vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
