As our business is growing, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Hydraulic Technician to join the team. This is a unique opportunity to grow and develop with a market leading, mining and industrial tooling company.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, service and repair of varied hydraulic heavy lift jacks, cylinders, pumps, valves etc. You will provide accurate inspections and high-quality testing of equipment in our workshop. This role may involve a few days per month working away from home doing on-site visits to Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Ulan, Gunnedah and Narrabri areas. You are required to communicate with on-site teams, following WHS practices and individual site requirements. This role will form part of our workshop team based at Rutherford, servicing and repairing various tooling and equipment.
At PERSAS we work a 38 hour/4-day week and you get every Friday off, unless you would like to pick up some overtime on a Friday! Weekends are free.
About the role:

Perform interval inspection of tooling and equipment to ensure safety and compliance.

Enter accurate equipment information and test results into our asset management system through a tablet.

Clearly communicate with internal and site staff regarding equipment failures and compliance.

Make minor repairs to onsite equipment.

Accurately record and monitor inventory usage.

Strip, assess and rebuild equipment while in the PERSAS workshop.

Work safely and follow all PERSAS and Customers operational and WHS procedure.

When you are on-site all travel and accommodation costs are paid for and we also provide an onsite daily allowance for overnight work.
What we are looking for:

Trade certificate in fitter/machinist qualification or Cert III Engineering.

At least 2 years prior experience in hydraulics repairs.

Hydraulics repairs/diagnostics/certificates and training a major advantage.

A safety-first mindset and focus is a must have.

Ability to travel and work away from home as required when on-site (this would be minimal).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office and tablet use.

A can-do attitude with a desire to learn.

MR License would be an added advantage.
