Our Level 6 Degree ApprenticeshipsOur apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3– 6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.
The Opportunity
As a Building Services Engineer, you'll work within a team of engineers to design all aspects of mechanical and electrical building services systems. Sustainability underpins everything we do at Arup and therefore your focus will be on delivering efficient, low energy and low carbon designs. You'll work with renewable and emerging technologies and enjoy the chance to work on projects in a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, aviation, commercial, and data centres. At Arup, you will take advantage of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. BIM enables us to design buildings collaboratively using 3D computer models. Whether you are designing a net zero carbon office or a hyperscale data centre, you will be working within multidisciplinary teams to optimise the competing requirements of a design and shape the buildings of the future.
Skills
Building Services Engineers apply their specialists' skills and expertise to provide safe mechanical and electrical systems in buildings. As an apprentice Building Services Engineer, you'll support a variety of different work, including:
Producing engineering drawings and sketches, including using 3D modelling and Building Information Management (BIM) software Writing technical reports and specifications Preparing building services calculations Contributing to sustainable solutions to design challenges Undertaking design reviews Taking part in design meetings, site visits, presentations and workshops Helping with the administration of projects Collaborating with internal and external project stakeholders Applying best practices for health and safety
We are looking for candidates who will achieve a minimum 112 UCAS points or equivalent. All applicants are required to have GCSE English Language at Grade C or above and Mathematics at Grade B or an equivalent qualification.

Eligibility for apprenticeship funding requires candidates to have the right to work in the UK and continuous residency in the UK since at least September 2022. Candidates holding a visa must ensure it remains valid for the full duration of the apprenticeship, which may extend up to 5 years.
