Our team provides high-quality geological services, supporting exploration and resource development projects for a range of mining and exploration companies.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Geologist to join our team. This role focuses on logging and interpreting Ordovician intermediate volcanic-hosted epithermal gold systems, with a strong preference for experience in the Lake Cowal volcanic sequences. The successful candidate will also play a key role in exploration efforts targeting porphyry copper and epithermal gold systems.Salary Range $92,000-$96,000. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct geological logging, sampling, and interpretation of core and rock chips, with a focus on epithermal gold and porphyry copper systems.Apply expertise in Ordovician intermediate volcanics, particularly within the Lake Cowal sequence.Plan and execute field programs, including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveys.Utilize geoscientific software and tools to analyse geological data, interpret results, and generate reports.Maintain and manage geological databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency in data collection and interpretation.Oversee and contribute to field operations in remote and challenging environments, ensuring safety and efficiency.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine exploration targets.Provide technical input and recommendations for exploration strategies and drilling programs.Supervise field staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.Accurately log and document geological core samples, detailing lithology, mineralogy, and structural features.Conduct mapping and surface sampling tasks, including analysis using GIS software.Prepare high-quality weekly and monthly reports summarizing geological findings and exploration progress.Skills & ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in exploration geology, with a background in epithermal and porphyry mineral systems.Hands-on experience in logging intermediate volcanic-hosted epithermal gold systems, preferably Lake Cowal Volcanics.Previous fieldwork in remote environments, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.Strong proficiency in geoscientific software, including Leapfrog, Mapinfo and Logchief highly desirable.Experience working in challenging and remote locations is advantageousStrong report-writing skills, with the ability to compile comprehensive geological reports.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.A passion for discovery and a commitment to advancing exploration projects.Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.Valid Australian driver's license.Ability to travel and work in remote field locations as required.Candidates based in the Riverina Region of NSW are preferred.
