ABOUT THE ROLE:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated person with exceptional optical customer service skills to join our team as an Optical Dispenser. The suitable candidate must demonstrate outstanding client experience from start to finish. We will be in our third year of operations and would like to see a new member of our team with us long term. Previous experience as an Optical Assistant or Dispensing is required for this position. You should have fantastic organisation and communication skills, able to work effectively in a team, and thrive on working to the values at Adrenaline Optometry.
This is a hybrid role, and you would be responsible of various of tasks and duties from opening to closing of the day.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work on Saturdays - 9am till 2pm
• Work on Weekday - 9am till 5pm
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service and general practice retail skills ie greeting customers, answering questions, assist customers choose frames, discuss lenses options etc
• Selling plano and prescription optical and sunglasses to customers
• Dispensing duties to ensure the very best patient experience ie measure PD and heights and processing all patient orders
• Take payment electronically or via cash
• Deal with customer requests and emails
• Maintain and care for stock
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the practice including overall presentation and cleanliness
• Complete administration duties including, booking patient appointments, ordering contact lenses, processing and posting customer online orders, liaising with patients with their orders and follow up appointments, package orders etc
• You will work to all practice policies and healthcare guidelines
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 12 months of sales and optical experience within an optical retail environment.
• Familiarity with progressive lenses, single vision lenses, bifocal lenses, coating types, transitions, tints and polarised options.
• Self-assured individual with the confidence to take initiative and make decisions for the customer
• Experience working effectively in a team environment as well autonomously under limited supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Technical skills including using software applications ie Microsoft packages, emails, data bases and online ordering platforms
• The ability to build genuine and supportive relationships with patients, networks and colleagues
• Sound knowledge and practical application in mathematics
• Experience with EFTPOS or Hicaps machine
• Great sense of fashion with eyewear and colour to suit patient needs
• Willingness to work in a team with a positive can-do attitude
