Little Peoples Oxford Group are looking for a qualified Head Educational Leader to inspire, mentor, and lead educational programs across our two centres located in Wagga Wagga. At Little Peoples we pride ourselves on excellent standards of care and our carefully structured early childhood learning and developmental programs for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
The Head Educational Leader is a key member of the Teaching and Learning Development Team working alongside the Area Manager and Nominated Supervisor in providing an environment that is safe and provides a rich and diverse range of experiences which promote learning and care.
About the role:
- The role is a Maternity Leave Position for approximately 6 months with the possibility of extending.
- The Educational Leader will be required to physically work alongside our Nominated Supervisors and their teams at each centre location.
- In conjunction with the Area Manager, you will lead and manage a high performing team of Nominated Supervisors by providing quality leadership, mentoring, guidance, support and a commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
- Demonstrating the National Quality Standards through implementing and practicing all elements in each quality area
- Providing supervision, direction, pedagogical leadership and on the job training to educator teams.
From time to time will be required to step into the Nominated Supervisor Position while the Nominated Supervisor is on leave.
Selection Criteria:
- Approved Early Childhood Teacher qualification; that is listed on the ACECQA approved qualification list, working towards ECT will be considered. This is a minimum requirement of qualification.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and influencing skills, with experience in facilitation, negotiation and conflict management.
- Ability to demonstrate the company goals and philosophy.
- Thorough knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards, and Education and Care Services National Regulations and Law.
- Comply with, maintain and review all services policies and procedures in accordance with the education and care services national law and national regulations.
- Maintain compliance with the regulations as prescribed by the regulatory authority along with all legal and statutory requirements.
- Maintain and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of Child Protection Legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children as part of a child-safe organisation.
- Strive to achieve service goals and ensure the company’s statement of philosophy is reflected in daily practice
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Leadership role in Early Childhood Education or minimum 5 years’ experience working in an Early Childhood Service.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary early childhood learning and development theories and learning styles.
- A strong understanding of contemporary curricula approaches, specifically a thorough knowledge of the approved curriculum frameworks.
- Ability to facilitate professional discussions and lead and support critical reflection in all aspects of program delivery across the service in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
