About this role

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the general maintenance and repair of our facilities, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. This role requires confidence in making decisions and the ability to work unsupervised


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including repairs, installations, and cleaning.
  • Conduct grounds maintenance such as mowing, fertilizing, pruning, and garden refuse removal.
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure facility upkeep.
  • Assist and supervise contractors, maintenance workers, and volunteers as directed.
  • Complete relevant record-keeping and administration using the organization's asset management system.


What you can bring to the team

We are looking for an individual with a proactive and organized approach to maintenance, strong prioritization skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

  • At least 12 months of experience in a handyman or maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements or the ability to acquire within one month of employment.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet business and service requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, legislative compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Fire Safety Adviser qualification or willingness to obtain at our cost.

You possess or willing to obtain;

  • A current National Police Certificate
  • Current Influenza Vaccination.
