About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to work in partnership with a caseload of women and families who are having an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby through the Redcliffe Ngarrama Maternity Program.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 8, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health and Department of Education) Certified Agreement (EB11) (2022) - Midwifery Generic Level Statements (GLS) Midwife Grade 5 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Apply clinical midwifery expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of woman and baby centred care.
  • Develop in partnership with women individualised care plans for antenatal, postnatal, and intrapartum care and may extend to women's health, sexual or reproductive health, preparation for parenthood and childcare.
