About the role
This role leads the ECA Tasmania workforce initiatives project team. This position is responsible for project managing, overseeing and ensuring the successful implementation of 2 grant-funded initiatives, the Early Years and School Aged Care (EYSAC) Education and Care Workforce Connection Initiative and the Early Years Workforce Development Fund . It will be based in Hobart, Tasmania to ensure that the project is informed by local knowledge and the needs of the Tasmanian early childhood education and care sector.
The Early Childhood Workforce Initiatives Manager will have experience and knowledge of the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector. They will also have an understanding of contemporary ECEC workforce challenges, national and state level workforce development strategies developed to respond to these challenges and the efficacy of initiatives resulting from these strategies.
This position will engage and work closely with stakeholders including the funding body, ECA Tasmania Branch Executive as well as employers, RTOs, Universities, external reference groups and specialists when required.

About you
The successful candidate will be seeking a challenging and rewarding role. You'll have good stakeholder relationship management and interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills as well as demonstrate the following:

Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role which may include: management, project management, early childhood education, adult learning, human resource management or workforce development.

Extensive knowledge of the operation and provision of early childhood education in Tasmania - Minimum 5 years relevant experience.

Knowledge and understanding of provision and delivery of training and qualifications required in early childhood education and care.

Substantive experience in project management.

Proven ability to lead and manage a team and deliver strong results.

Capacity to plan, prioritise and manage complex projects with significant interdependencies and multiple stakeholders.

Commitment to reconciliation, diversity and inclusion.
