About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the Launceston Respiratory and Sleep Centre as a full-time Medical Administrative Assistant. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice. The role is based in Launceston, Tasmania.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting and welcoming patients, managing the reception area, and handling inquiries in a professional and friendly manner

  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, including follow-ups and appointment reminders

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical files, both electronic and physical

  • Assisting with the preparation of medical reports, correspondence, and other administrative tasks

  • Providing support to the medical team as needed, including liaising with other healthcare providers

  • Adhering to all relevant medical and administrative policies and procedures

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in a medical administrative or receptionist role, preferably within a healthcare setting

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour

  • Proficient in using medical practice management software and standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office)

  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and data

  • A genuine interest in healthcare and a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centred care
