About the Role of Communications and Events Officer

Adelaide Based Team

Permanent Part Time: 21 and 27 hours per week

$41.50 per hour + superannuation and paid leave
This position is vital in coordinating communications and membership events to support CDAA's strategic plan and liaises closely with the National Executive Committee, Divisional Committee Members, Association Members, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

Communications and engagement support to the National Executive Committee, and the National Office team

Support the National Business Coordinator on conference planning and financial elements including advertising and promotional work

Coordinate the creation of Divisional and National events (including webinars) on the CDAA website and liaise with a range of members and committee leaders

Write, edit, proofread, and design high-quality communication and social media materials within tight deadlines, including media releases, newsletters, web content and key messaging.

Contribute to the continuous improvement by actively innovating and improving marketing and communication strategies, processes, and systems and by delivering advice to NEC on potential changes.

Source and curate appropriate career development profession content and images for electronic newsletters, CDAA website, CDAA events and prepare the CDAA blog.

Assist journalists with media enquiries by organising relevant spokespeople and update media contact document for reporting.

Manage all CPD event registrations, send registration lists to hosts, send reminder emails to registrants, allocate host webinars as needed and edit/distribute recordings to registrants. Act as a meeting host when necessary for large events.

Update website content on a weekly/monthly basis such as webinar recordings for sale, Member Library, insurance, homepage events banner, other content pages.

Manage advertising inquiries, generate invoices, and create advertising graphics for customers if needed.
Ideal Qualifications and Career Achievements

Qualification in marketing, communications, event management or media relations recognised from a tertiary institution.

Experience in a similar marketing and events based role.

Takes the initiative to collaborate with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise.

Capacity for occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.

Driver’s license

Time management and the ability to prioritise and plan workload to meet agreed deadlines.

Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to CDAAs vision and strategic plan.

Achievements in collaborating with a close-knit and busy team while being adaptive and intrinsically motivated.

Expertise in using, and coaching others in, digital and technology platforms including Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite (Photoshop), Social Media Platforms, Basic HTML, Mobile Devices, ZOOM and Customer Relationship databases/systems (IMIS or similar preferable).

Hands-on capabilities in marketing, writing, editing, event scheduling and coordination, designing promotional campaigns and supporting national programs.

Career achievements in a not for profit or member-based environment, and passion for creative design, authentic stakeholder engagement and strategic communications.
