Knauf is seeking a passionate, experienced, and reliable Account Manager to join our ambitious sales team. This role reports to the General Manager SA and will be based at our Woodville North Fulfilment Centre.

This role will be responsible for generating sales revenue in line with agreed sales plans and budgets, in addition to developing long term business relationships with existing and prospective customers.

Customer portfolio includes internal linings contractors and builders in Residential and Commercial segments. The product categories include Plasterboard, Metal, Insulation, Fibre Cement and accessories.

You will have a disciplined approach at ensuring all relevant market and sales activities are being reported through our CRM system (SalesForce) and maintaining customer records.

There will be a focus on Commercial projects pipeline and tracking with stakeholders, to grow our Commercial sales.


Role responsibilities:

  • Ensure business transactions are conducted in a legal and professional manner with strong ethical, safety and compliance standards
  • Undertake sales activities within the segment / region to exceed budgeted targets and take corrective action as required, whilst exceeding customer expectation
  • Project tracking utilising CRM system
  • Contribute to the development of the segment and customer strategy and plans, to protect current business and win new business whilst identifying opportunities for value added products, systems, and services through account plan management
  • Develop strong multilevel relationships with targeted customers and segment decision makers whilst providing outstanding customer service to ensure a supplier of choice position
  • Maintain and report knowledge of market trends, competitor activities and developments
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and recording of sales activities via reports and CRM


Candidate requirements:

  • Superior written and verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective presentation skills to applicable audience
  • Self-motivated, driven, enthusiastic and resilient with the ability to operate autonomously
  • Basic competency in Word, Excel, and Power point
  • SAP & CRM Salesforce experience and knowledge preferred
  • Must possess a current Driver’s License
  • A minimum of 5 years external sales experience
  • Building industry knowledge and experience preferred but not essential
