Description:
Abyss Construction Pty Ltd are looking for a Site Engineer for managing construction projects, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications. You will be responsible to oversee the day-to-day operations on the construction site, coordinate activities, liaise with contractors, and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring they are performed according to design specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the project manager, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth progress of the project.
- Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time and are in accordance with the project schedule.
- Manage and track the progress of construction activities and report on the status to senior management.
- Ensure that all construction work is executed with the highest quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to check for compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Identify any potential issues or risks and propose solutions to prevent delays or quality issues.
- Implement and monitor health and safety protocols on the construction site to ensure the safety of all personnel.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions with site workers.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and all safety gear is used in compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical advice and support to site workers, contractors, and engineers as needed.
- Review technical drawings and specifications, ensuring the project complies with engineering designs and standards.
- Resolve technical issues and discrepancies during construction, ensuring that work progresses without disruption.
- Assist in the preparation of final project documentation, including as-built drawings and operation manuals.
- Monitor construction costs and assist with budget management, ensuring that the project stays within budget.
- Identify and resolve issues that may lead to cost overruns, inefficiencies, or delays.
- Work closely with the procurement team to order materials and manage inventory efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Site/Project Engineer or in a similar role in construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and engineering tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Salary commensurate with experience in the range $75-95,000
