About the Role

The School Support Officers will play an integral role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of the school, providing support to students and staff, and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and effective learning environment. These positions are ideal for individuals who are organised, approachable, and committed to making a positive impact on the school community.
The School Support Officers will be expected to:

  • Be active and visible around the school during school time to assist with moving students to class in a timely manner and attend to students who are truanting classes.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, offering tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Provide targeted interventions, including mentoring and one-on-one support for students with complex needs.
  • Assist in managing student wellbeing programs, including social skills groups, resilience-building activities, and proactive behaviour management.
  • Contribute to school-wide events and initiatives, promoting positive behaviours and reinforcing the school's values and expectations.
  • Be a key part of a dynamic team, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Possess strong communication skills, the ability to build relationships with students, and a passion for engaging with and supporting students who may be disengaged.
