As the Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for leading and implementing associated category strategies and plans that support the delivery of best practice category management outcomes. The role is also responsible for project managing the implementation of planned procurement initiatives utilising relevant value creation levers (e.g., reduce scope, standardise products, strategic sourcing, aggregation of demand etc.), putting in place transparent benefits realisation reporting and for ensuring that robust contractual arrangements are executed that lock in the procured value. This role is also responsible for managing the contractual performance of the Supplier to ensure strategic long term operational and tactical relationships and relevant performance management issues by mitigating any supply and distribution problems with appropriate stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Drive the development and implementation of category plans and initiatives based on customer needs and priorities to maximise value.
- Project manage the implementation of planned procurement initiatives using value creation levers such as reduction in scope or standardisation of products.
- Develop and maintain outstanding relationships with key supplier and customer stakeholders to drive better value outcomes.
- Identify and socialise potential procurement opportunities and solutions with suppliers and customers to support state-wide strategies and priorities.
- Implement contracts with appropriate performance incentives linking desired procurement outcomes to payments.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Has experience in leading complex tenders and developing supplier transition plans.
- Has experience in Implementing contract management strategies and techniques, including strong negotiation skills.
- Identifies opportunities to improve value from procurement initiatives.
- Ensures materials/services are delivered according to contract specifications.
- Manages complex customer and supplier issues.
- Resolves supplier performance issues and supporting internal customers.
- Leads complex change management initiatives, including supply transitions and internal process changes.
- Will mplement continuous improvement initiatives.
