Description:

As Director Procurement, you will hold the delegation of Chief Procurement Officer, and will be responsible for leadership in the development and implementation of innovative procurement solutions to support the delivery of the department’s strategic objectives in the most efficient, effective and economical manner whilst ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and legislative requirements.

We are looking for a strategic leader to join the Financial Services Branch as Director, Procurement.

You will develop and implement procurement strategies that align with government policies and best practices while ensuring value-for-money outcomes. You will also provide expert advice to senior leadership and lead a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and frameworks.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement governance, risk management, and negotiations.
  • Oversee reports, submissions, and ministerial correspondence on procurement matters.
  • Lead and develop the Procurement team, ensuring integrity, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement and align procurement with the department's strategic goals.

  • Proven leadership in complex procurement and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A track record of driving organisational change and procurement best practices.
  • A solutions-focused mindset, ensuring ethical and transparent decision-making.
