Assist Technical Services Department to achieve compliance with the Hume City Council’s Road Management Plan objectives.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide high level of Contract supervision.
- Provide administration support with assigning Work Orders to relevant officers or other Council Teams.
- Produce actuals (completed works) spreadsheets, and contractors’ daily site audits.
- Monitor data entered onto Council’s Asset Management System resulting from routine RMP inspections and customer requests to ensure Road Management Plan compliance is achieved.
- Provide feedback to the Works Delivery Supervisor on works status and non-compliance situations regarding contractors’ performance.
- Where required, provide administrative assistance with technical and investigation reports on all matters relating to rehabilitation works.
- Provide administrative support to the Works Delivery Supervisor in the completion of Freedom of Information and Public Liability Insurance Claims reports referred by Council’s Claims/Insurance Team.
- High level of customer service in both verbal and written form.
- A demonstrated understanding of municipal maintenance operations and practices.
- Understanding of organisational context, including relevant Council policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and precedents. Including, unit goals and wider organisational goals.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including, ‘Road Management Act 2004’ and the Hume City Council Road Management Plan.
- Ability to identify customer/client needs and expectations, decide appropriate action and respond accordingly.
- Ability to gain cooperation from and communicate both verbally and in written form to a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Ability to uphold a positive image of Council when liaising with difficult customer/client situations.
- Experience in the use of Asset Management Systems
- Sound knowledge of computer applications in Microsoft suite, Record manger/Trim and databases
- Civil construction or relevant experience in a Local Government environment or similar.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
