This Brisbane-based role offers a challenging yet rewarding environment where your skills ensure the high-quality standards and protocols are continually met. As a lynchpin of the Office of the Deputy Director-General, your role will be to coordinate, craft, and oversee the executive documentation that expresses our division's professionalism and commitment to excellence. Through rigorous proofing, managing, and tracking, you will ensure every piece of correspondence meets the highest quality standards and timeframes.

As a Correspondence Officer You Will

  • Assist with the coordination, review and preparation of correspondence and briefing notes, ensuring executive documents are registered, prepared, managed and finalised in accordance with approved standards and procedures to support Tourism Division.
  • Ensure the correct standards, templates and processes are applied, including providing feedback on opportunities for improvement.
  • Generate and disseminate weekly correspondence reports, including analysis of issues for Tourism Division's Executive Leadership Team.
  • Monitor and action emails within Tourism Division's generic electronic mailbox.
  • Assist with Right to Information requests and records management support activities for the broader division.
  • Maintain strong networks and work collaboratively with Tourism business units, Office of the Director-General, and other Deputy Directors-General offices.
  • Effectively manage change and resources, underpinned by a culture of client service, continuous improvement according to the Tourism Division Values,


Queensland Government Public Service Values and the Reframing the Relationship Plan.

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service, Public Service Values and departmental policies and positively contribute to a highperforming workplace culture that is respectful, inclusive and safe.
  • Other duties as directed and required.

About You

  • You'll have the ability to work effectively under pressure, handle competing priorities, meet deadlines and bring tasks to completion
  • You'll have the confidence to work independently to achieve outcomes with limited guidance
  • You'll be known for your effective written and verbal communication skills, engaging professionally and effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • You'll be able to demonstrate transferable skills in working in an electronic document workflow system used to manage correspondence and briefing notes or


the ability to rapidly acquire, previous experience with MECS is highly desirable
