Job Description

About the Role

As a QA Inspector, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of mechanical and pipeline projects across the Cooper Basin. This position is based on-site at the Santos Project, working a FIFO rotational roster (3 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster).

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all welding activities for the project. Ensuring compliance with all WPS, WPQR, Client & Code requirements & compiling of all associated documentation.
  • Liaise with NDT Contractors’ and review all documentation.
  • Oversee all coating activities carried out on site in line with Client & Code requirements. Carry out coating inspection as required.
  • Validating and controlling all quality records for the project.
  • Conducting internal audits to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Ensuring compliance of the quality management process to the highest standard.
Desired Skills and Experience

About You

To be successful in this role you must hold the following traits, skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role in the Oil, Gas and Energy sector.
  • Australian recognised Trade Qualification in heavy fabrication (Boilermaker/Welder).
  • Welding Inspection Qualification – CSWIP 3.1 or IIW IWI-B as a minimum (AS1796 Certificate 10 advantageous).
  • NACE Level 1 Coating Inspection as a minimum (NACE Level 2 advantageous).
  • Experience with FIC & MDR documentation compilation.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and set priorities effectively.
  • Be flexible and adaptive to change.
