Access the National Relay Service You will apply a range of both routine and specialised histological procedures to surgical and autopsy specimens to detect pathological features essential for diagnosis applying independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate. What you'll do In this role, you will: • Undertake surgical cut-up, diagnostic specimen management, testing and related duties following established accredited protocols and standards in accordance with professional and ethical standards and NPAAC requirements. • Develop scientific knowledge and expertise in histology through active learning by engaging in professional development activities both formal and informal. • Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification that enhance the delivery of Anatomical Pathology services both within the division and to external clients. • Work cooperatively to provide direction to assistant and support staff and communicate effectively within the laboratory and with clients both internal and external to the laboratory.

About you We are searching for someone who: • Holds at least a Bachelor of Science relevant to the field (or equivalent) from a recognised university or tertiary institution. • Candidates must be able to participate in a roster system, including overtime as required. Current Laboratory hours fall between 0530-2300 Monday to Friday and 0530-1530 Saturday and rostered on call duties. Why work with us?
