Description:

We are seeking an experienced Government Relations Officer to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This role is required to provide a high level of executive and ministerial correspondence coordination and drafting for the RTA and provide confidential administrative and ad-hoc support to the Strategy and Government Relations (S&GR) Team.

This position is a temporary fixed-term, full-time role until 31 December 2025 and is located in the Brisbane CBD with generous flexible working arrangements.

The role of the Government Relations Officer is to manage and coordinate the end-to-end ministerial and executive correspondence for the RTA, ensuring information is clear and factually-correct, written to a high standard and in line with established procedures, templates and style guides to meet internal and external deadlines.

To be successful you will need:

  • Exceptional written communication skills that are clear, concise and appropriate for the situation, whilst ensuring information is factually correct and fit for purpose
  • The ability to source information and input from other teams to inform requests, leveraging standard responses where appropriate
  • The ability to work under pressure in an environment of competing priorities, managing multiple requests within strict deadlines
  • A working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 is desirable, however not necessary
  • A sound knowledge of government correspondence processes would also be desirable.
