We are seeking a passionate chef who is dedicated to creating exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will have a love for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Qualifications & experience
- Hold a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience as a chef.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Create and implement an authentic menu with seasonal specials, ensuring alignment with Sorrelli Cafe’s quality standards.
- Skilfully cooking a variety of dishes, including meat and fresh produce.
- Menu Planning as per the season and availability of ingredients.
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment, including grills and deep-fat fryers, safely and effectively.
- Monitoring cooking times and temperatures to maintain quality and safety standards
- Interacting with diners to provide recommendations or explanations about dishes.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen.
- Mentor and train kitchen staff, promoting professional growth and consistency within the team.
- Maintain budgetary goals by managing food costs without sacrificing quality.
