About the role
As a Product Business Development Manager (BDM) for our clients groundbreaking, patented new machinery, you will be responsible for driving the successful launch and adoption of this new robotic cleaning unit. This role involves conducting product demonstrations, nurturing relationships with end users, and working closely with partners to ensure market success. The ideal candidate is a self-driven hunter style sales professional with experience in solution-based selling, particularly in equipment or technology-driven products.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Identify, target, and engage end users in key sectors (e.g., facilities management, hospitals, education, retail).
- Conduct face-to-face product demonstrations to highlight the value of product and drive conversions.
- Develop a pipeline of prospects and ensure consistent follow-up to close deals.
- Report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and market insights.
- Position their new innovations effectively in the market by understanding customer pain points and competitive advantages.
- Gather feedback from demonstrations and adjust the sales strategy accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to enhance visibility and demand for our clients product range.
- Serve as a product expert , educating both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- As the role evolves, expand focus to incoraporate their entire suite of products.
- Assist with larger strategic sales initiatives as the business grows.
To be considered for the role, you will need to demonstrate
- Proven experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development (preferably in equipment, technology, or industrial products).
- Strong ability to present and demonstrate products to decision-makers.
- Experience in solution-based selling rather than transactional sales.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage a sales pipeline , and meet revenue targets.
- Excellent relationship-building skills to collaborate with partners and end users .
- Willingness to travel within the Sydney area and beyond for demonstrations.
